Boxcar's Coronavirus Response

At Boxcar, we are dedicated to offering a simplified, comfortable, safe commute. The 2019 Novel Coronavirus is already impacting the way that people commute and work, and we are monitoring it closely.
In the next few weeks, we expect that commuter behavior and expectations will further evolve as everyone works to help reduce transmission rates. As that happens, we’ll do our best to ensure Boxcar’s offerings continue to meet commuter needs. In the meantime, we wanted to update you on what to expect from our existing services, as well as announce a new product.
Boxcar Buses
After each ride, our buses are wiped down with disinfectant. In addition, deeper overnight cleanings are being done every few days.
At the request of riders on our Madison/Chatham route, we are adding a trial run of a 14-passenger luxury sprinter for the evening return. The price for this trip will be $37.99, higher than mass transit but less expensive than a ride share or car service.
The route will be subject to traffic, and travel times will vary, but the new service will allow riders to avoid more congested travel hubs. As always, Boxcar members will be eligible to book tickets at significant discounts. This bus will depart from 145 west 45th street at 5:15 pm, starting Wednesday, March 4.
Boxcar Workspace
Whether your office has prioritized remote work, or you just want to stay close to home, customers looking to avoid commuting altogether can reserve a local desk for the day in our partner offices in Chatham, Livingston, Morristown, Summit, and Westfield.
These daily workspaces include WiFi, access to private phone booths, and amenities like coffee and snacks, while providing a quiet place to get a productive day’s work done.
Boxcar Parking
Our parking options will carry on as usual with spots available for in-advance reservation at most locations.
If you commute to Hoboken, Jersey City, or Downtown and want to skip the train, Boxcar has daily parking available in Jersey City near the Paulus Hook and Liberty Harbor Ferry Terminals.
